These courses are aimed at getting you from not being able to run for more than a few minutes at a time, to being able to run steadily for 20 to 30 minutes. You might also like to consider a 5k Parkrun on completion of the course, to put your stake firmly in the ground!
The 6 week courses consist of one session per week plus homework (additional runs and exercises as part of an overall fitness plan).
The first session of each course, is a run plus theory session lasting about 1.5 hours.
Each week we focus on a different aspect of running, to help you to get into some good habits and to avoid injuries
- what you wear, including trainers & bras
- how to run
- healthy eating
- strengthening your body
- flexibility & stretching
- the importance of rest & recovery
The course cost includes annual membership of runnyhoneys, your walk-to-run programme, 6 theory sessions with handouts, 2 fitness tests (before and after) and a lot of friendly guidance and advice.
All courses are led by a qualified Run Leader or Coach.
